Hooked up with Dan this morning. Meet at 4:30 A.M. and hit the woods. Scouted by
Moon light and with the fresh snow the sign was there. So, we put a plan in
action. Boy what action. Dan had a woodpecker decoy, with that, I and the WT
caller speaker in tow I set the stage. Dan upwind on a stand. Get set, hit the
remote. Looked and there he goes Red Fox gone. Right by the speaker. I just
shook my head and grinned. Changed sound. Best part of this caller instant. Then
a coyote comes in, bang, Dan hit, screams out off that dog, crank the volume.
Coyote screaming, caller screaming. I put a shot in the rolling around coyote.
Reload. Here they come one left one right. Bang Dan. My mistake, looking a all
three in the scope and should have just picked one. I swung right for the close
one, bang, gone. What noise!!!! I walk to where I had shot at the second coyote
and there was a sapling hit dead center, tooth picks everywhere. After all said
and done one coyote down nice male. I could not believe what just happened. One
red fox and three coyotes. I don't know what held them there as we tried to poke
holes in there fir. I shoot a single shot and had time to shoot twice. Was it
all the screaming?
Been out, as much as I can. I'm learning these
southern NH coyotes. And with my WT caller at my side and good friends to hunt
with, we are going to put a hurtin on them boys!!!
The more the merrier.
Anyone want to go hunting?
